Few beaches in Sri Lanka enjoy the popularity and fame that Hikkaduwa Beach enjoys. And to be sure, it is well deserved. Hikkaduwa has some of the most pristine stretches of coastline seen anywhere not he islands. Couple this with the azure blue waters that border it, and all the vibrant corals and marine life that it harbours – it’s safe to say that Hikkaduwa is a fantastic beach getaway! The Hikkaduwa Beach Festival is an annual affair and it is one of the largest beach festivals of its kind. Affectionately called the “Hikka Fest”, beachgoers and party enthusiasts from around the world flock to Hikkaduwa Beach for what is a truly international affair. The Festival generally takes place around July or August. During this time the weather is perfect, truly capturing the feel and atmosphere of a tropical paradise. What’s more, the waves tend tor ramp up during these days, meaning surfers can show off their skills as the festivities take place on the beach.

The Hikka Fest will feature a range of performances, including live playsets of both local and international DJs. There are plenty of restaurants and bars all around the beach to keep you refreshed during the festival. And that’s a good thing because the festivities can last for up to 5 days!
