Ella Nightlife

When it comes to nightlife in a quaint town nestled in between misty mountains, it comes as no surprise that there is no party scene going on with loud music and excitement here. Instead, there are a few restaurants that serve up some warm western-style cuisine while there are a few bars and snazzy cafes that offer a great relaxing vibe which is perfect for ending a tiring day of hiking.

One of the most popular cafes in the area among tourists would be Café Chill where you can spend the evening on the pretty upper deck sipping on some beer or whatever suits your palate at the time. Just like the name suggests it is truly a “chill” spot in Ella. The menu is full of items like pizzas, delicious hamburgers, and Sri Lankan lamprais’ which is an absolute must-try!

AK Ristoro is yet another favourite restaurant that never ceases to delight your taste buds with divine Italian cuisine. Expect pizzas, pasta, and strangely enough sushi on the menu. Sushi? The owner is half Japanese, so definitely try some authentic Japanese sushi here as well. With simple furnishings and a rustic outlook, this restaurant provides a relaxing atmosphere as well.

‘Reincarnation’ is a fairly new establishment compared to the rest and is a restaurant that serves up some amazing Mexican cuisine. They’ve got tacos and wraps on their menu that most claim tastes absolutely divine.

Closer to the Ella Train Station is a hippie-themed bar called Café One Love. The ambience here helps you let go of all stress and just unwind in bliss. Take off your shoes and leave them on the special shoe rack. Enter and pick your seat be it a tiny bed, a beanbag, or a sofa. Take a minute or two to soak in the interiors filled with colourful lights and tiki masks before you order up on a drink and perhaps some shisha. For those who love cuddly creatures, you could visit the little pet dogs who are very friendly!
