Seven religious and cultural sites of Sri Lanka have been recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites they are namely, the sacred city of Anuradhapura, the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, the sacred city of Sigiriya, the Golden Temple of Dambulla, the old town of Galle, and the magnificent Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.
